San Diego is our favorite California 'Big City' with plenty of historic sites, pristine beaches, amusement parks, museums, pro sports, restaurants and entertainment. We've found downtown to be relatively safe for a big city and very clean. The downtown region is a strategic hub for many of San Diego's top attractions including the Gaslamp Quarter, Padres baseball, Old Town San Diego, Little Italy, Balboa Park, the Convention Center and U.S.S. Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum. Many of these sites are within walking distance, or short trolley ride from downtown.
